IT is time again for Strelitzia High School’s annual ‘Time to Say Goodbye’ concert presented by the schools acclaimed choir as well as its popular Ma(st)rimba Band.

According to René Zietsman, Strelitzia’s music coach, this is a special occasion where Strelitzia is bidding goodbye, but not farewell, to the Grade 12 learners in the choir and the band.

“Some of them have been involved in musicmaking at Strelitzia for the past five years,” said Zietsman.

The concert will be held at the school hall at 18:30 tonight. Tickets are R20 per person and will be available at the doors, school office during school hours or from choir members.

The choir and band’s guest performers of the evening will be the senior choir from Frans Conradie primary school with Tanya Gerber as the conductor. She also is the conductor of the Strelitzia choir.

The choir from the Uitenhage Congregational Church, under the direction of Ethan van Sensie, a former Strelitzia choir and band member and currently assisting Strelitzia Choir as a Nelson Mandela University music student, will also be performing.

There will be no interval and the concert will be end approximately 20:00.
