TOYOTA South Africa for the first time in its existence announced a dealership nominated being the best in the country for the fifth consecutive year ... and the honour goes to Algoa Toyota Uitenhage!

“No matter how good you are or what you do, you can always improve! It’s a matter of Kaizen, a Japanese word for continuous improvement,” said Calvin Parry, dealer principal at Algoa Toyota Uitenhage.

Algoa Toyota Uitenhage was named the best small dealership amongst the 123 Toyota dealerships countrywide at the annual awards ceremony which was held at the Kyalami Racetrack in Johannesburg.

For this milestone Parry received the Toyota Pyramid of Excellence award. It was Algoa Toyota Uitenhage’s sixth time nominated as the best small Toyota dealership in South Africa.

Adding to the milestone, its AutoMark used vehicle division with Dewald Oelofse as manager, was named best in the small dealership category of Toyota South Africa.

The service and parts division with Myan Maistry and Quinton Boshoff as managers was second best in its category and new vehicles third best, with only 0.23% less points than the winner, Toyota Bredasdorp.

“It is all about good relationships, treating our customers as guests as well as our Best in Town programme that we have adopted. Awards are nice to win, but it would not have been if it was not for satisfied guests,” said Parry.

“Winning once is difficult and shows you are doing things right. Winning five times in a row, shows that you have the right people who have embedded the best customer service as a business culture.”

Every year Toyota honours outstanding dealerships with its prestige Pyramid of Excellence awards. These awards are based on a comprehensive set of metrics on which each dealer is measured throughout the preceding year. The measurements include customer service, environmental protection, financial performance and vehicle sales.

According to New Vehicle sales manager, Conrad van Rooyen, “winning best dealership award for five consecutive years tells it all about the character of the team at Algoa Toyota Uitenhage.

“In a very competitive market, our customer satisfaction index for December year to date was phenomenal, scoring 298 out of 300, which is 99.5%.

“Our success is owed to stability and once again stability midst constant challenges. We operate as a family and our guests become part of this Toyota family,” said Van Rooyen.

  • As part of the winning prizes Parry will jet off to Russia, Oelofse will go on a journey to Malta whilst Myan Maistry and Quinton Boshoff will enjoy adventures in Chobe, Botswana.
