This Sunday’s Uitenhage Market at Willow Dam will be dedicated to the Uitenhage SPCA. The public are invited to bring along their dogs (on leashes) to participate in a dog show, or to donate pet food in aid of the local SPCA.

The categories of entering the Dog Show categories include cutest, ugliest, best dog tricks, dress-up your dog and owner-dog-look-alike. The show starts at 11:00 and the entrance fee is R10 with all proceeds going to the SPCA.

There will be prizes for each category winner.

“We also appeal to those coming to the market to please feel free in bringing along some pet food to help fill-up the SPCA stock,” said Lilly de Jongh from the Uitenhage Market.

Other entertainment of the day includes a performance by DJ Sippy live on stage and the more than 170 stalls to browse through. Entrance is free and the market runs from 09:00 to 14:00.
