Early childhood centre opens in Addo

The Department of Education in the Eastern Cape officially opened an Early Childhood Development Centre for Grade R learners at AV Bukani Primary School in Addo

The R11.9 million project located in Nomathamsanqa has seen a composition of SMMEs taking part in the construction of the school and benefiting through skills development.

“Over 361 kids will benefit from the infrastructure. This makes us proud as it provides a brighter future for our children,” said MPL Fundile Gade, Portfolio Chairperson on Education.

The Coega Development Corporation (CDC) an implementing agent on behalf of the department of education completed the school within in time and scope.

“It’s gratifying. Everyone worked hard to ensure that the project is completed with minimal disruptions,” said Njongo Ncanywa, CDC Project Manager – Education.
