2016-04-14 06:00

Woodridge will, yet again, be opening its doors to young artists from schools and other artistic institutions in the region for the Knock on Wood Arts Fest!

Adjudication of instrumental, vocal, choral and dramatic performances will be alternated with concerts covering a wide range of musical styles, poetry readings and exhibitions of participants’ art works.

Festival participants will, additionally, have the opportunity to compete in a brand new Vocal Duet section and Instrumental Ensemble Category. The Drama and Creative Writing Categories have, furthermore, been extended to accommodate Afrikaans and Xhosa entries.

Adjudicators include Llise Dodd (Visual Arts), Thys Cillé (Visual Arts), Marlené Pieterse (Drama), Phemelo Hellemann (Drama), William Silk (Choir), Rudi Bower (Music), Kobus Buys (Music) and Linda Mostert (Creative Writing).

Closing date for entries

Knock on Wood will be held from 1 to 5 August and it promises to be every bit as exciting, enjoyable and innovative as our 2013 and 2014 events. The Knock on Wood Prospectus and affiliation form are available on www.woodridge.co.za. The closing date for affiliations is 22 April and entries may reach Woodridge from 2 May until 3 June.
