Excitement awaits annual derby day

EXCITEMENT is building up for the highlight on the sporting calendar of the schools Gamble Street, Uitenhage High, McCarthy Comprehensive and John Walton with their annual Derby Day which kicks-off on Saturday at 09:00 at the Jubilee Park sports field.

The event is sponsored by Desais, Volkswagen Market Square Uitenhage and Toyota Uitenhage.

The 2018 Derby Day is hosted by Gamble Street Secondary School and in addition to soccer, rugby and netball matches to be played, DJ TBozz will be responsible for the entertainment at the event. Entrance to Jubilee Park sports field will be R5 for learners, adults R10 and R10 per vehicle.

On Saturday evening at 19:00 a Golden Oldies will be held at Jubilee Hotel with DJ Superman in attendance. The event is sponsored by Kurt Nelson and tickets are R50 per person. - REPORTER
