Get out your running shoes as the weather forecast for Saturday looks good and just what is needed to participate in the 5km fun run in Van Riebeekhoogte, Uitenhage.

Action starts at 08:30 at the Titan’s Universal Gym at the Kition Centre (opposite Spyros KwikSpar) and it is hosted by Iviwe Konza, finalist in Die Burger/Boardwalk Mr PE 2016.

“With this fun run my aim is to unite and inspire the community of Uitenhage towards a healthy and vibrant lifestyle,” said an excited Iviwe Konza who matriculated from Daniel Pienaar THS.

Funds raised through the 5km fun run will be donated to the two beneficiaries of the Die Burger/Boardwalk Mr PE 2016 contest, namely Quest School for Learners with Autism and Wings and Wishes, a transport agency for terminally ill children.

“From my heart I wish to motivate all participants to take the spirit of running (or walking) and to reach the finishing line into their personal lives,” said Konza.

The first 100 finishers will each receive a medal. The winner will receive R400 cash and a bouquet, runner-up R300 & bouquet and the 3rd prize is R200 cash & bouquet.

The 5km fun run is sponsored by Titan’s Universal Gym

The entry fee is R20 and entry forms are available from Titan’s Universal Gym at the Kition Centre in Van Riebeekhoogte, Uitenhage or at the UD News office.
