Good Samaritan assists elderly after accident

Words of gratitude and astonishment came from an elderly female driver from Uitenhage, wishing to thank a compassionate young man in a silver VW Polo, who assisted her after she had an accident.

“I do not know what happened. My car hit the island in Union Avenue. When I came to my senses, I thought I was already dead,” said Mrs Nomzi Hela (73) a retired nurse.

On Tuesday, January 26th, at about 14:30 she was left stranded after the ordeal, which left two of her silver-grey Kia Picanto’s tyres flat.

“The young man came to my assistance. He asked me if I was OK, fitted the spare wheel and then drove away.”

They unfortunately did not exchange any information and she does not have a clue as to who he is. All she knows is that he was driving in a silver VW Polo.

  • “I wish to thank him from the bottom of my heart for his unselfishness and kind assistance.”
