‘Goodbye’ concert for marimba band members

A “Time to say Goodbye” concert with Strelitzia Mastrimba Band, Strelitzia Choir and Westering High School’s Treble Tonez performing will be held this afternoon.

The “goodbye” part is to the 27 Grade 12 learners who form part of the Strelitzia Mastrimba Band and Treble Tonez which have achieved several golden moments during 2018. The concert will also be a celebration of the school’s 50th year in existence.

Streltizia choir won a golden certificate during the 2018 ATKV regional festival. They also won gold at the Knock on Wood arts and music Eistedfodd hosted at Woodridge College. Strelitzia’s marimba band, dubbed Mastrimba, won double gold at the Knock on Wood.

This afternoon’s concert starts at 15:30 (duration is 75 minutes with no interval) at the Strelitzia school hall. Tickets are R10/person and will be available at the door.

The public are invited to join in this festive music event.
