The wonder of colour chemistry and various other science related puzzles will be unpacked in a fun way during the Nelson Mandela Bay Science & Technology Centre’s next holiday programme. It runs from December 10th to 15th.

“One of our fundamental objectives is to impress upon the learners the dire importance of studying and understanding chemistry,” said Ntuthu Ngxakaza, Science Communicator at the NMB Science & Technology Centre.

“It is therefore imperative for learners to attend activities and to satisfy their curiosity in utilising a laboratory to perform experiments.”

Children between the ages of 6 and 16 years are invited to participate. The science fun days are on 10, 11, 14 & 15 December and activities include games (from 10:00-11:00) like maths games, Mlabalaba/Dominos, chess, drafts and Money Matters. From 12:00 to 14:00 science related activities will be presented. This include an Amazing Science Race where kids will race around the centre, solving puzzles and using general knowledge to advance through to different stages.

The activity Be a Chemist, will allow kids the opportunity to physically observe the indications of chemical reactions, whilst Chromatography will challenge them to explore the wonder of colour chemistry.

Nelson Mandela Bay Science & Technology Centre is situated at the corner of Lower Drostdy Street and Constitution Road (entrance in Lower Drostdy Street).

Space is limited and booking is essential. So, to participate in the events the cost is R10 per child per day and attendance should be confirmed by phoning Singa at 041 991 5000 or e-mail
