THE Nelson Mandela University’s next jazz lunch hour concert will be held next Wednesday, October 16 at the South Campus Auditorium at 13:00.

Two ensembles will be performing including the Nelson Mandela University Big Band. Jazz Studies lecturers and ensemble leaders John Edwards (piano) and Curtis Kettledas (alto/tenor saxophone) will be performing alongside students that range in ability from first to fourth year.

The two bands will present a repertoire that is representative of a variety of jazz styles with a special focus on South African jazz. In this regard the concert will feature works by Snarky Puppy, Bheki Mseleku and Eastern Cape jazz legend Zim Ngqawana.
