Kamesh woman fatally shot

POLICE are investigating a murder and attempted murder case after a couple was attacked in their home in Kamesh on Sunday night.

The couple was watching television in their Tailor Bird Street residence in Rosedale, when someone knocked on the door.

According to police information, the boyfriend allegedly opened the door and two men, one with a firearm, entered and started shooting at the couple.

The two suspects immediately fled the scene after the incident.

Jaydene Plaatjies (24) sustained gunshot wounds and was declared dead at the scene. Her 27-year-old injured boyfriend was taken to hospital.

Kamesh detectives are urging anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact the nearest police station or to share information via Crime Stop 08600 10111. Callers may remain anonymous and all information will be treated strictly and confidential.
