Kuduskloof murders: Whose watch was this?

A watch may lead to identify the decomposed body of a male, found in the bushes next to the Kuduskloof Road.

“The watch (see attached photograph) believed to be that of the deceased, was found on the crime scene. Anyone who recognizes the watch or may know of a missing relative has to please contact the investigating officer,” said police spokesperson Captain Gerda Swart.

After a post mortem was conducted, it was established that the cause of the unidentified male’s death was a gunshot to the head.

According to police information, the decomposed body was found on Thursday, 17 January 2019 at about 16:00 by a passerby.

“The body was about 150m from the T-junction leading to the R334. The unidentified male was clothed in a pair of blue and white Tomtom sneakers, a blue overall pants and black/dark shirt,” said Captain Swart.

Anyone who might be able to assist with any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects or who can assist with information about the victim, is requested to contact the investigating officer, Detective Warrant Officer Deon Roos on 079 896 8148, Uitenhage Detective on 041 996 4500 or Crime Stop 08600 10111.

Second body next to Kuduskloof Road

In relation to another murder, it is alleged that on Sunday, 10 March 2019 at about 16:00, a herdsman alerted Uitenhage police of a body lying about 20m into the bushes next to the Kuduskloof Road (MR0470), about 300m from the T-junction.

“The unknown male, who appears to be in his early 40s, was dressed in light blue pants, red/white/black striped shirt without any shoes.

“The victim was severely assaulted and the cause of death was defined as blunt force trauma to the head,” said Captain Swart.

Anyone who might be able to assist with any information about this murder which could lead to the arrest of the suspect/s or who can assist with information about the victim, is requested to contact the investigating officer, Detective Warrant Officer Deon Roos on 079 896 8148, Uitenhage Detective on 041 996 4500 or Crime Stop 08600 10111.
