Lelona Ndoni a Grade 6 learner from Little Flower Roman Catholic Primary in Uitenhage took part in the 2018 Nelson Mandela Bay District Spelling Bee competition and was the winner of her category.

Her hard work continued as she prepared for the Eastern Cape Provincial Spelling Bee competition which was held in East London. Lelona was the second runner up and received three medals, a huge trophy as well as a tablet.

Lelona will now be heading to the National Spelling Bee competition in Pretoria, where she will represent the Eastern Cape.
