STRUTTING down the catwalk in New York is what awaits Dillan Rogers (18) from Uitenhage.

This follows after he has entered the Talent Africa national competition held at the PE Opera House during April where he won gold in three categories of the modelling competition, namely for High Fashion, Casual as well as Formal.

Talent Africa is a talent-based national competition which seeks to do three main things: to scout talent and give contestants a platform to perform on, to nurture and grow the talent, and to provide ongoing platforms and opportunities to work in the industry.

Being included in the Talent Africa team, Dillan received his Eastern Cape federation colours from the Federation of Performing Arts South Africa (FPASA) for performing arts.

He now is a member of FPASA, which offers a fair platform for young artists in the arts that will inspire, grow, mature, stretch and challenge them to achieve their goals and dreams.

Dillan, a former learner at Muir College, now at Cape Recife High School in Port Elizabeth, said his interest in modelling was triggered after he won a Mr Cape Recife competition.

He will travel to New York on 22nd June to represent South Africa at the Talent America competition.

Travelling to New York and participating internationally offer the models and artists the opportunity to be scouted for possible international contracts.

Dillan is mentored by Gail Brown from Sophisticate Models.
