Local muscle athletes to show strength in France

Three local fitness fanatics of which two are South African body-building champions, will be heading to Bordeaux, France, as members of the SA Natural Body-building team to compete in the World Championship Natural Body-building from November 21-25.

Mopp Arends and Deenan Afrika participated in the EP body-building championships held in Port Elizabeth and both won their respective categories. Nicky Human and Celeste Barnardo excelled in the fitness physique category. The four athletes represented the Eastern Province in Bellville at the South African body-building championships.

Arends again took top spot in the over 60 category and was the overall winner in the Master III (over 60s) category. Deenan Afrika won the U.19 body-building category and was the overall junior champion.

Nicky Human and Celeste Barnado both participated in the fitness (physique) category. Nicky came 2nd and Celeste was 3rd.

Arends, Afrika and Human were included in the SA team which will head for Paris, France,

Fund-raising events will be held to assist in covering travelling costs to France:

.A chicken braai will be held on November 4th. Tickets are R40.

.On November 5th at 19:00, a gospel show with the Christadelphians will be held at the Rose Lane Congregational church hall. Tickets R40/person.

.On November 18th at 14:00, a High Tea will be held at New Dawn International church building. Tickets are R80/person.
