Three businesses together with members from Kamesh police station and Uitenhage Mental Health joined hands to change in 67 minutes the socio-economic living conditions of a 72-year-old man in need.

Jack Jantjies had no words to expess his gratitude as his informal house was cleansed, painted and all the rubble was removed.

The team who changed Jantjies’ living conditions consisted of Lindiwe Speelman-Ntlamesi from Mental Health, police members Mrs Sigudla (sector manager), Constables Sibaca, Mxoli and Petrus, together with community policing forum members as well as a few community members.

Contributions were made by Dajee’s Hardware Store (paint), BUCO (poles and beams) and Climax Concrete Products (pavers).

The Mental Health office in Uitenhage wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all who played a role as agents of change by making a remarkable difference in the life of the recipient.
