A mother and daughter brunch with the guest speaker being the dynamic Faith Lelaka, Volkswagen of South Africa’s unit head of the paint shop, will be held as part of the Uitenhage High Past Pupils and Teachers’ Association’s fund-raising endeavours. The fundraising is towards UHPTTA’s project to financially assist matriculants with tertiary studies. According to Malise Terblanche, UHPTTA’s spokesperson, “the annual mother and daughter brunch has gained popularity to such an extent that it was necessary this year to host it at a much larger venue, namely the VWPeoplePavilion.”The guest speaker, Faith Lelaka, is the first black woman appointed at this level in the production environment. Faith started as an in-service trainee in 1999 and has worked her way from a technician in the process lab, to the production line and into leadership. Faith is also a wife and mother of 4 children. She knows how to juggle work and home life.It will be held on August 13th at 10:00. “Although the event is being marketed as a mother and daughter brunch, anyone is actually welcome to attend this fun and inspirational morning,” said Chanell Hoffman, the event organiser. Tickets for this event are available from Roshaan Pather at 084 941 2708 or Chanell Hoffman at 073 338 4187.
