100 Learners from Palmietriver Primary School received brand new school shoes.

The learners are mainly from surrounding farming communities and some attend school barefoot.

With winter in full force, Neville Dennis, the school’s principal, approached The Edu-Hage Community Fund, requesting for assistance with school shoes.

The Edu-Hage Community Fund was established a few years ago with the aim of assisting South Africa’s youth, in particular those within the Uitenhage and surrounding areas. The fund’s vision is to empower the youth to become tomorrow’s leaders through a number of programmes which include career guidance, educational as well as financial assistance.

Through the collaboration between The Edu-Hage Community Fund, Rand Merchant Bank and Bata, the donation and delivery of the new school shoes was arranged.

Palmietriver Primary School and its learners would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to RMB as well as Bata, for making this donation possible.

The Edu-Hage Community Fund would furthermore like to invite the community to keep an eye out and participate in upcoming initiatives to enable it to affect more lives going forward. Please visit the fund’s Facebook page for more information.
