Next beach clean-up event

The next WESSA Algoa Bay Branch and Zwartkops Conservancy beach clean-up will be at Wells Estate Beach on Saturday 27 April and will take place from 09:30 to 10:30.

To get there along the N2, take the R335 Addo/Markman off-ramp left. At the stop street, turn right towards the sea. This is St Georges Street. Drive about 700 metres to the first four way stop and turn right. Drive a further 1.1 kilometres. Turn left into the road which leads to the parking area at the Wells Estate colourful turquoise beach complex buildings.

Park close to the right hand section of the complex where you will be met by WESSA representatives. Participants will be supplied with bags, but please bring your own gloves if possible, water, hats and sunscreen.

Fish farm: public comments

Please note that the deadline for submission of public comments on the pre-application Basic Assessment for an Aquaculture Development Zone, by Anchor Environmental Consultants is 30th of April. The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF), intends to establish and manage a sea-based Aquaculture Development Zone (ADZ) in Algoa Bay
