THE Nelson Mandela University will be hosting an opera concert with performances from two South African-grown singers, Siphokazi Molteno and Noluvuyo Mpofu.

Both these talented women are from the Eastern Cape. Siphokazi had taken part in many big occasions such as the Youth Concerto Festival, in association with the Eastern Cape Philharmonic Orchestra; the Aspen Music Festival in Colorado and she was invited to the Concert of Arias singing competition in Houston Grand Opera in Texas.

Noluvuyo studied at the South African College of Music in Cape Town. She had been a member of the Cape Town Opera studio where she played a role in numerous productions. She took part in Rossini Opera Festival in Italy and had been amongst the chosen candidates for the Opera awards. She has also recently been nominated for the upcoming Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards in 2018.

The combination of these two magnificent opera singers is guaranteed to be nothing short of amazing. So be sure not to miss out on this special event.

  • It will take place on Saturday, 10 March at 19:00 at NMU South Campus Auditorium in Summerstrand. Tickets will be available at the venue, with R150 for the general public and R75 for pensioners and students.
