Panagis family thankful for support

WELL-KNOWN Uitenhage businessman, humanitarian and Rotarian, Pana Panagis (67) passed away on Friday, September 6 after a long illness.

Pana was a highly-valued member of the Rotary Club of Uitenhage and will be remembered for his decades of involvement with the Uitenhage Street Carnival.

His memorial service was held at the Uitenhage Golf Club.

The Panagis family would like to thank “the people of Uitenhage, Despatch and from all over the world for their outpouring of love and support through this recent traumatic time in our lives,” said Athina Panagis, his wife.

“Thank you to the doctors and hospital staff of the Uitenhage Provincial Hospital’s ward 5A, as well as all at Aandmymering for their love and kindness during Panas’ last 36 hours. Thank you also to Dominee Christo Stumke and Deus Curat for your professionalism.”

Pana will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Athina and their children Lana, Harry, Leon and Vera, as well as son-in-law Shaun, daughter-in-law Anna-Marie and grand- daughter Zoe.
