The Uitenhage Lions is requesting the local community’s assistance for donations of new undergarments which will be handed to the Cosmos Rape Crisis Centre. “The centre is always in need of undergarments as victims’ clothing are taken from them for forensic purposes,” said Uitenhage Lions Club President, Hein de Vrey. The donated undergarments will contribute to both the psychological and emotional benefit of those who were impacted by the traumatic experience of being a rape victim.De Vrey added that the Lions project is in support of Woman’s Month and with the return of Spring will hopefully bring positive changes in the lives of those of the most innocent and vulnerable effected by this crime against humanity. Sizes of donated undergarments The sizes of the needed undergarments which will be donated to Cosmos Rape Crisis Centre are as follow: Female: children sizes - small to age 12 to 13 years; adult sizes - small to XXXL.
