THE Swiftresponse Community Empowerment Initiative through Soccer last weekend held its 4th annual prizegiving awarding their achievers.

The best behaved in the junior category, Racquel Bethel and Angelo Adekunle, each received stationery for educational purposes worth R500. In the youth category for best behaved male and female, David Abrahams and Sade Abrahams, each received a prize worth R500 in support of their respective small businesses.

“They both also received acknowledgement as outstanding officials. For this an additional R1 000 was added in support of their respective businesses,” said Ade Adekunle, manager of the Swiftresponse soccer initiative.

Sade Abrahams is starting a hair styling business whilst David Abrahams is selling health products.

The outstanding goalkeepers Malibongwe Blaauw, Gabriela Bethel and Jamal Charlse each received either stationery or school wear worth R300.

Fairplay awards went to Casslynn Farrett, Claython Ruiters, Tramaine Rogerson and Lucian Whitebooi for outstanding volunteerism and also assisting as coaches.

All prizes were sponsored by Galaxy Bingo. The event was held at the Peculiar Peoples Church Hall at 10 Alexander Street in Uitenhage.
