Afro Soul sensation Camagwini (Siphokazi Buti) will be coming home as the headline act for the 7th One Africa Arts Festival to be hosted in Port Elizabeth.

Born and raised in the Eastern Cape, Camagwini is a versatile singer and songwriter who promises to have the crowd on their feet. She rose to fame in 2007 after the success of her single “Imvumi” from her debut album Zivile (2007).

Since them Camagwini has shared the stage with great national and international icons such as Puff Johnson, Angelic Kidjio, Hugh Masikela and the late Busi Mhlongo.

She has released three albums namely “Zivile” which means message is understood, “Ezamandulo” meaning Ancient Times and “Rebirth”.

She will be joined on the stage by Cape Town-based Azania and local group Brown Sugah and the Microwave, as well as other artists.

In addition to the music, festival-goers can enjoy traditional African meals prepared by cooks from other African countries living in Central, as well as African visual arts and African-inspired fashion.

The festival, presented by One Blood Sounds, is being held at the Grand Hotel on Saturday, November 19.

  • Tickets are R100 at Computicket and R150 at the door.
