A brand new sport section, supplying equipment of most of the locally enjoyed sports, is now part of Extreme Marine fishing tackle and bait shop at 33 John Street in Uitenhage.

Well-known former Brocketts Sports owner, Mike Scott who has been in the sports trade for 50 years, will be in charge of the new Extreme Marine Sport section.

Marlon George, owner of Extreme Marine, which opened its doors during 2011, said they experience an influx of clients requesting various sporting gear.

“Mike knows the sports trade, has expertise, loads of supplier contacts and valuable advice relating to the various sports. It is a great pleasure to have him with us. He already has had a huge impact in our business for which I am very thankful,” said Marlon.

Sports gear

The sport section supplies most of the general sporting equipment for cricket, soccer, rugby, tennis, hockey, squash, swimming, darts and a few other sports.

“We will adapt and make a plan according to what our customers want,” said Marlon.

Mike is extremely excited to head-up the new sport section at Extreme Marine.

“Whatever basic equipment our local sportsmen and -women need, we will have it. If not, we will make a plan to get it,” said Mike.

“I like a challenge, especially if it is sport rela-ted. So, I really look forward to this one.”

Hiking on the rise

According to Marlon, hiking as an outdoor sport is gaining a lot of popularity in Uiten-hage. Therefore he plans to also stock Extreme Marine with basic hiking gear.

“We have started the sport section on a small scale, but have already enjoyed good support from the community,” said Marlon.

On-line shopping

Extreme Marine’s extensive range of products are available on internet (www.extrememarine.co.za) with deliveries to your door saving you time. The shop also runs a very active Facebook page as well as a WhatsApp group.

Fishing

Extreme Marine stocks a wide range of fishing rods, reels fishing tackle, spares for most popular brands and various other accessories. As a specialized service they offer repairs to fishing rods and reels as well as custom-made and branded rod building.

So, at Extreme Marine it will no longer only be fishing rods and reels, swivels, snaps, and all the other fishing gear to fill tackle boxes. From now on swimmers and players of various sports need not drive to PE, but can mingle with fishers at this all-in-one sports shop in town to get the gear they want.
