Tiere groet ‘juffrou’ na 33 jaar

Die Tiere neem vanjaar afskeid van Cathy Bellingan wat aan die einde van die skooljaar aftree.

Sy was vroeër verbonde aan die WNNR voordat sy haar by HTS Daniel Pienaar se onderwysers aangesluit het.

Nico Claassen, skoolhoof, sê Bellingan sal onthou word vir haar toewyding en uitstekende Wiskunde-onderrig, as-ook vir haar hart vir kinders.

Die Bellingans is Tiere in murg en been. Haar man, Koos Bellingan was ‘n Tier in die dae toe die skool nog langs die rivier was. Beide die Bellingan seuns was ook Tiere, waarvan die oudste seun, Graham, onderhoofseun was. Vandag is hy ook ‘n Wiskunde onderwyser (departementshoof en sporthoof) en is verbonde aan die Hoërskool Hermanus.

In haar afskeidsboodskap het Bellingan gemeld dat, “aanmoediging, harde werk, selfvertroue en akademiese prestasie baie nou verweefd is – heelparty leerlinge raak Wiskundeprobleme baas as hul selfvertroue verbeter.

Harde werk deur beide die onderwyser en leerling asook aanmoediging deur die onderwyser is bydraende faktore wat selfvertroue bou en prestasie verseker.”

Die Bellingan-egpaar beoog om hul na aftrede in Jeffreysbaai te vestig. Na 33 jaar se harde werk, gun die Tiere hul “juffrou” die welverdiende rus.
