Total of 230 suspects arrested in U’hage Cluster

A total of 230 suspects were arrested in the Uitenhage Cluster during the past weekend.

The suspects were arrested on charges relating to murder, rape, robbery, attempted murder, housebreaking and theft, assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm, theft and possession of suspected stolen goods.

Seven arrests were made for driving under the influence of liquor. A total of 18 traffic fines were issued, valued at more than R9 000. Seventeen persons were arrested and detained after illegal drugs were found in their possession. A total of 140 fines were issued for other liquor related crimes.
