Uitenhage outdoor market held this Sunday

2016-02-04 06:00

The Uitenhage Market has grown into one of the largest monthly outdoor markets in the Eastern Cape, with an average of 200 stalls trading at Willow Dam each first Sunday of the month.

It is an initiative of Women In Business and was established 3 years ago, offering a platform to local entrepreneurs to sell their products.

“We support local entrepreneurs by helping to start a small business. We also give exposure to established businesses to up their sales without having high overheads,” said Lilly de Jong from Women in Business.

The first Uitenhage Market of 2016 starts on Sunday, February 7th, from 09:00-15:00 at Willow Dam in Uitenhage.

Entry is free to the public and there will be plenty of seating under trees to enjoy the day browsing through the stalls and listening to live music.

There will be a wide variety of stalls from furniture, rugby memorabilia, baby clothes, décor items, spices, jewellery to health and body products and recycled products.

For the kids there will be a jungle gym, paintball, pedal karts, tractor ride, face paint, horse riding, sand art and lots more.

When it comes to the food stalls, there will be something to treat all tastes with from Afval, cheese sticks, pork neck rolls, corn dogs, pizza, Chinese food to roti’s, home-made sweets and treats to pancakes, platters and many more.

Stand holders, artists and all others interested in finding out more regarding the Uitenhage Market can contact Lilly on 076 345 9935 or e-mail wibsouthafrica@gmail.com or else browse on Facebook under Uitenhage Market.-Heilie Combrinck
