If you like food, food for thought, food for your soul, good coffee and fellowship, then head straight to Agape coffee shop at 32 Caledon Street in Uitenhage. This latest happening in town is the inspiration of owners Gerald and Sheri-Ann Pietersen. They had at heart a place where visions turn into reality, where hope changes fate and where good old fashioned values can thrive. A place of unconditional love. Therefore Agape is a place for the like-minded, those who look forward to a better future. Those who wish to enrich their lives through sharing their skills to the benefit of others. The way Gerald (training and development consultant) and Sheri-Ann (counselling psychologist at NMU) transformed the building which previously was the Sheriff’s Office, is the way they change lives. The couple broke down walls to lighten up and re-energise the interior. They brightened-up the walls with colour and threw open the doors to all companions of change.Entertainment in the form of live music and poetry evenings is part of Agape and the next artist is Ntlantla Swana with her soothing acoustic jazz on Friday, May 4th. Acts to follow include Nadan Naidoo - Do not die in the middle of your destiny (May 8th); Masterclass Writers workshop (May 12th) and Jam Session: Various Artists (May 17). Leadership seminars are also held at the venue. Gerald and Sheri-Ann are also known for presenting courses of The Five Love Languages of Dr Gary Chapman. Siya Sebenza work readiness programmes will be conducted at Agape in the near future. At Agape light meals and non-alcoholic hot and cold beverages are served. Gerald is adamant when it comes to coffee and says they serve the best coffee in town!Walter Schneider, also known as The Austrian Chef, has joined Agape to consult on the culinary side. Not only does he run his own consultancy, but he also teaches aspirant chefs to one day fulfil this dream of theirs. Gerald and Sheri-Ann wish to thank the community for their support.Trading hours: weekdays & Saturdays 07:00-22:00; Sundays 12:00-21:00.
