Die Gariep Kunstefees het Donderdagaand (14/06) ná 18 jaar se feestelikhede met die Grande Finale-konsert by die Noord-Kaap-teater in Kimberley vaarwel gesê.

Johrné van Huyssteen en Lizz Meiring het die feesverhaal van die afgelope twee dekades vertel, van waar die Gariep Kunstefees begin het, staaltjies van agter die skerms, die groei oor die jare heen en wat die feesbestuur laat besluit het om uiteindelik die fees te staak.

Gaskunstenaars soos Kurt Darren, Pieter Smith, Jakkie Louw, Nádine, Broers, Wynand en Chereé, Dr Victor, Willem Botha, Lochner de Kock, Andrew Roos, Elvis Blue en Vicky Sampson, asook plaaslike kunstenaars, het opgetree.
