KwaZulu-Natal  Fourteen goats found stuffed into a stolen Toyota Tazz are being kept at a pound and are in good health, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Sunday.

The car, which was stolen in Newark only a few hours earlier, was recovered at Thrings Post shortly after midnight on Saturday with more than a dozen livestock in the vehicle, police spokesperson, Lieutenant Nqobile Gwala, told News24.

The suspects abandoned the car and ran when police gave chase. They got away.

The animals were being kept at the pound until the owner had identified them. Police are investigating.
