Durban – Fifteen people were injured when a taxi driver lost control of his vehicle on Old Greytown Road in Northdale, Pietermaritzburg, on Saturday.

ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said that when paramedics and other services arrived on scene they found some passengers seated next to the taxi and others lying in the taxi.

“Passengers still in the vehicle, which had rolled and landed on its roof, were crawling out. The patients were assessed. They sustained minor to moderate injuries.

“The patients were treated and transported to the Edendale, Greys and Northdale hospitals for further medical care. The exact cause of the incident is unknown,” Bodasing said.

Authorities were on scene to investigate further.
