Fifteen people were injured when the bus they were travelling in caught alight.

The incident happened on Friday evening on the M25 near the Ntuzuma offramp in KwaZulu-Natal.

At 18:20, paramedics responded to reports of bus fire, Netcare 911 said in a statement.

“Reports from the scene indicate that 15 people sustained minor injuries.

“One person sustained serious injuries while the other occupants sustained minor injuries mainly due to smoke inhalation.

“All the patients were treated on scene and transported by various ambulance services to hospital for further treatment. All necessary authorities were on scene to investigate,” spokesperson Shawn Herbst said.
