Cape Town - A 16-year-old boy appeared in the Oudtshoorn Magistrate's Court on Monday in connection with the death of another teenager, Western Cape police said.

Captain Malcolm Pojie said the youth got into a fight with another 16-year-old in an alley in Dysselsdorp, near Oudtshoorn, on Friday.

"The victim, Mervin Isaacs, collapsed during the fight and was carried to his home at Plaatjie Street by bystanders," said Pojie.

Isaacs died and the other boy was charged with murder.

The cause of death was not yet known.
