18 injured in taxi crash

Lydenburg - Eighteen people were injured after a taxi crashed into a tractor under a railway bridge in Lydenburg, Mpumalanga on Wednesday afternoon, paramedics said.

Netcare911 spokesperson Chris Botha said two people were critically injured. 

The remainder sustained serious to minor injuries. 

They were transported to hospital. 

The incident happened at around 16:45. 

This accident comes a week after 20 people were killed after a minibus crashed into a truck on the R25 near Verena in Mpumalanga. Eighteen of them were pupils.
