18 pupils injured in Kempton Park crash

Johannesburg - Eighteen school pupils were injured - one of the seriously - when their taxi hit a school wall in Kempton Park, on the East Rand, on Wednesday, paramedics said.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said the driver lost control of the vehicle and it crashed into the wall of the Chloorkop Primary School.

The injured children, aged between 8 and 12, were taken to various hospitals.

The driver was not injured.

    18 Pupils injured and the taxi driver was uninjured. That makes 19 people in a 16 seater. Does the word "OVERLOADING" register here??? Hope the other 10 people are OK!!! Chaarge the driver with attempted murder, reckless and negligent driving and while you are there have the b@#tard breathalised.

    TAXI, yet again I would hazzard a guess and say 90% of the accidents in our country involve a taxi or a truck!
