Cape Town - Two people were arrested when drugs with a street value of R1.9m was found under the back seat of a car in Gugulethu in the early hours of Saturday morning, Western Cape police said.
At around 01:05 police followed up on information they received about the vehilce, Constable Noloyiso Rwexana said.
"A Toyota Fortuner was found at the address in Gugulethu and nicotine police dog responded positively and indicated that there were drugs under the back seat of the vehicle.
"Mandrax, cocaine and rocks with [an] estimated street value of R1.9m were confiscated," Rwexana.
A 50-year-old man and 57-year-old woman were arrested and facing charges of possession of drugs.
Once charged the two were expected to appear in the Athlone Magistrate's Court.
