2 caught with contraband cigarettes

Johannesburg - Two people were arrested when they were found in possession of contraband cigarettes in Paarden Eiland, Cape Town, on Tuesday, Western Cape police said.

Captain Frederik Van Wyk said a 36-year-old man and his 50-year-old accomplice were arrested when police searched their truck.

They found 88 boxes, each filled with 50 cartons of various "fake" brands of cigarettes, with an estimated street value of R550 000.

    What tripe. Its a free market. Fake cigarettes!! Nothing but the thieving, wasting revenue services wanting MORE-MORE-MORE. Its a trash habit. Fake trash as a concept. Have you heard that fake (sic) cigarettes cause crime in your area. I reckon if you follow this one, you'll find the Easter Bunny. And he'll be smoking fake cigarettes.
