Johannesburg – Two drivers were killed when their vehicles collided on the R716 in the Sedibeng area on Friday morning, Gauteng paramedics said.

The men, aged around 30 and 60, died before emergency medical teams arrived at the accident scene between Vanderbijlpark and Deneysville, said Netcare911 spokesperson Nick Dollman.

Firefighters had to use specialised hydraulic equipment to free the bodies from the wreckage.

"They both appeared to be alone in their cars and nobody else was injured in the incident."

Dollman said the road was temporarily closed to allow the police to investigate the circumstances.
