Cape Town – A waitress and a man who allegedly supplied illegal point of sale devices will appear again in court next week, the Western Cape Hawks said on Wednesday.

Liberty Tsambirwa, 29, and Makanyra Manyika, 39, were arrested at the weekend for fraud, spokesperson Captain Lloyd Ramovha said.

Officers apprehended Manyika at a local restaurant where she worked. She was allegedly found in possession of an illegal point of sale device.

The device was used to swipe cards for transactions, without transferring the money to the establishment.

Officers were led to Tsambirwa’s home. He was allegedly the supplier of the devices.

Ramovha said they seized 18 cloned cards, two laptops, and memory sticks.

The pair appeared in the Stellenbosch Magistrate’s Court on Monday. They would return to court on Monday, July 18, for a bail hearing.
