2 killed in Woodstock shoot-out

Cape Town – Two people have died in a late night shoot-out in Woodstock, Cape Town.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel André Traut confirmed that two men had died as a result of the shooting.

"Last night at around 22:45, two men were shot on the corner of Regent-and Argyle road in Woodstock," he said.

Traut said one man, aged 24, died on scene, while the second injured victim, age unknown, had been transported to the Groote Schuur Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Traut said the unknown gunman had not yet been arrested.

He said that it was difficult to say if the incident was gang-related as the motive for the shooting had not yet been determined.
