Durban – Two KwaZulu-Natal men were each sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for separate rape cases, local police said on Tuesday.

The two men were sentenced in the Ezakheni Regional Court last week, Captain Nqobile Gwala said.

In the first case, stemming from December 2015, the 59-year-old accused repeatedly raped his 11-year-old granddaughter.

The grandmother caught the man raping the girl in the garage, Gwala said.

He was sentenced to 20 years in jail for rape and declared unfit to possess a firearm.
