Two men have been arrested after a missing Cape Town woman was found dead in the storeroom of her house in Goodwood, Western Cape police said on Wednesday.

Captain FC Van Wyk said the woman's body was found at 21:30 on Tuesday night in Cook Street, after her family reported her missing.

She was last seen early on Monday. Her grey Hyundai Elantra and a hard drive from the home's CCTV cameras were also gone.

Pictures of her stolen Hyundai were circulated, and it was spotted by members of the dog unit who were working in Elsies River.

Van Wyk said police officers became suspicious when they spotted a VW Jetta driving with the Hyundai, and decided to follow both cars.

The two cars then stopped and the Jetta driver got out and approached the Hyundai driver.

Police pounced and arrested the two drivers - aged 30 and 32.

The stolen hard drive was also recovered.

A post-mortem would be conducted to determine how the woman had died.

The two men arrested will appear in the Goodwood Magistrate's Court soon on a charge of murder.
