2 paramedics seriously hurt in ambulance crash

Durban - Two paramedics have been hospitalised after two ambulances were involved in a crash in Durban on Saturday night.

KwaZulu-Natal Emergency Medical Services spokesperson Robert Mckenzie said the accident involving the two private ambulances took place on Solomon Mahlangu Drive (former Edwin Swales VC Drive) at about 23:00.

"Two paramedics were seriously injured in the incident. EMS as well as other private ambulances responded and transported the paramedics to hospital for treatment," he said.

The cause of the crash was not known and the authorities were on scene to investigate.

"We wish them a speedy and full recovery," Mckenzie added.
