Cape Town - About 25 people have been displaced following a shack fire at Parkwood near Muizenberg in the Cape Peninsula, the SABC reported on Wednesday.

Cape Town firefighters said four informal structures at the back of a house caught fire on Tuesday night.

Spokesperson Theo Layne said no one was injured in the blaze. The destitute were taken in for the night by neighbours and friends in the area.

The cause of the fire was not yet known.

hope the destitude would get help instead of lip -service. Charity must begin at home. I stil fail to understand why SWAZILAND received so much money, what for when we are striken with disasters and taking ages to get helped. My house was divastated during storms in December 2009. I reported but never got a dime to help me out. I have lost hope in my own country. I am single mom with two girls at tertiary, and one at secondary school. Life shouldnt be so difficult. I hope this network could be of rescue.Fellow networkers please help my plight.
