Durban – Three armed men robbed a restaurant at a service station in Mount Edgecombe on Tuesday, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

Around 13:00, they held staff at gunpoint and demanded cash, police spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbhele said.

They fled in a car with an undisclosed amount of cash. No shots were fired and nobody was hurt.

A case of business robbery was opened at the Phoenix police station. No arrests had been made yet.

On Monday, three men were shot dead and a fourth was injured in a botched cash heist in Hillcrest. The four tried to raid a cash van which had stopped at a petrol station to collect money.
