Cape Town – Three suspects will appear in court on Monday after a man was shot at a fast food outlet in Ravensmead, Cape Town, police said on Sunday.

The victim was wounded and robbed around 03:00 on Sunday, spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Andre Traut said.

The suspects, aged between 20 and 28, were arrested on Sunday after the victim's phone was found on them.

They were also in possession of a firearm used in a crime at a house in the area, he said.

They have been charged with possession of stolen goods, attempted murder and possession of illegal firearms and ammunition and will appear in the Bishop Lavis Magistrate’s Court.

Meanwhile, a “suspicious looking” man was arrested for possession of an illegal firearm in the Uitsig area, Cape Town on Saturday.

Police were doing routine patrols in the area when the suspect was spotted.

Police found a 9mm Petro Berreta pistol on him and one magazine with nine rounds.

The 21-year-old suspect will also appear in the Bishop Lavis Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
