Johannesburg - Two men and a youth were electrocuted near Tongaat in KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday, said emergency workers.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Santi Steinmann said paramedics found two men, aged 19 and 23, lying on the ground next to a dirt road.

A member of the public had rushed the 16-year-old youth to hospital where he was declared dead on arrival, said Steinmann.

Paramedics assessed the two men on the scene and declared them dead.

"The exact detail of the cause of the electrocution incident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation," said Steinmann.
