2012-06-30 19:30

Johannesburg - Three Zambian men were arrested for allegedly transporting drugs with an estimated street value of R43m on Duncan Road in Gauteng on Saturday, police said.

Captain Pinky Tsinyane said the men were arrested by the Hawks after they received a tip-off.

She said the truck had been pulled over and searched.

"The truck looked empty, but police members managed to identify a false compartment where bags full of Mandrax were hidden."

The truck was apparently from Tanzania and had come through the Botswana Border.

The men aged between 32 and 40 were expected to appear in the Randfontein Magistrates Court on charges of drug trafficking.

I'm sure the evidence will mysteriously disappear and find its way back onto the streets through the corrupt officials. Should implement laws like Thailand - death penalty, nothing less!
